About the Role

CashTrans is currently hiring a Reconciliation Officer to join its fast-paced Cash-in-Transit (CIT) operations team. This role is vital in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all financial records related to daily cash movement, deposits, and reconciliations.

As a Reconciliation Officer, you will be responsible for analyzing and verifying cash transactions, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all funds are accurately accounted for. You will collaborate closely with operations, finance, and control room teams to safeguard assets, maintain compliance, and ensure timely reporting.

This position requires a high level of accuracy, numerical ability, and analytical thinking. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working efficiently under pressure while maintaining strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Purpose

The Reconciliation Officer ensures that all financial transactions related to Cash-in-Transit operations are recorded, verified, and reconciled accurately. This role supports the overall goal of ensuring transparency, reliability, and compliance within the organization’s financial systems.

You will be responsible for identifying and investigating variances, ensuring end-of-day cash reports match physical cash balances, and implementing corrective measures in collaboration with relevant departments.

Ultimately, the Reconciliation Officer safeguards the financial integrity of CashTrans by ensuring that every transaction is correct, traceable, and compliant with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Reconciliation Officer, your primary duties will include the following:

1. Daily Cash Reconciliation

• Reconcile all daily cash-in and cash-out transactions related to CIT operations.
• Verify deposits, withdrawals, and balances to ensure all amounts match system records.
• Investigate discrepancies, report findings, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Ensure all reconciliation processes comply with established internal control procedures.

2. Financial Accuracy and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliation reports for management review.
• Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly financial reconciliation cycles.
• Coordinate with Finance and Operations departments to ensure all variances are identified and resolved.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data and company information.

3. Data Analysis and Problem Solving

• Use analytical tools and techniques to identify recurring reconciliation issues.
• Track transaction trends and highlight potential risks or process inefficiencies.
• Provide data-driven insights to improve cash handling and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to recommend and implement process enhancements.

4. Collaboration with Other Departments

• Liaise closely with Cash Center Supervisors, Operations Managers, and Control Room Operators.
• Coordinate with finance teams for posting corrections or journal entries when required.
• Communicate with CIT team leaders regarding discrepancies observed during cash delivery or collection.
• Work with IT or systems support teams to ensure transaction data is accurate and synchronized.

5. Compliance and Risk Management

• Follow all company and regulatory policies related to cash management and financial reporting.
• Ensure proper documentation of reconciliation activities for audit readiness.
• Report any suspicious or irregular transaction patterns immediately to management.
• Maintain awareness of anti-money laundering (AML) and financial compliance guidelines.

6. Operational Excellence

• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain a structured filing system for all reconciliation reports and supporting documents.
• Ensure all records are updated in the system within the specified deadlines.
• Contribute to achieving department KPIs related to reconciliation accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications and Requirements

• To qualify for the position of Reconciliation Officer at CashTrans, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (mandatory).

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in cash reconciliation, financial analysis, or cash management.
• Previous experience in a banking, financial services, or CIT (Cash-in-Transit) environment is preferred.

Technical Skills
