About the Role

Mashreq is currently seeking a skilled and motivated EDMS Lead (Assistant Manager) to join its Digital Platforms Support team in Abu Dhabi. This role is crucial to ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of key digital systems including Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), Business Automation Workflows (BAW), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

As an EDMS Lead, you will be responsible for managing production support operations, leading a team of technical professionals, and ensuring seamless collaboration between technology teams and business units. You will also oversee automation initiatives using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and ensure adherence to compliance, audit, and regulatory standards.

This position is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise in WebLogic, Oracle databases, Java, and Unix/Linux, combined with leadership skills and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Job Purpose

The EDMS Lead (Assistant Manager) is responsible for production support and enhancement of Mashreq’s digital platforms, ensuring uninterrupted operations, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will lead a team managing daily production activities, automation processes, and incident resolution, while fostering collaboration across business, technology, and vendor teams. The role also involves proactive monitoring, system optimization, and reporting to ensure consistent service delivery aligned with Mashreq’s digital transformation goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Support and System Operations

• Deliver L1 and L2 production support for the EDMS application and related digital platforms (BAW and RPA).
• Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and escalations in compliance with defined SLAs.
• Monitor system health and ensure application uptime, reliability, and performance.
• Support critical operations during off-business hours when required.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to recurring issues.

2. Technical Administration and Troubleshooting

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in WebLogic Web Server administration and Oracle Database operations.
• Utilize Java coding, Unix/Linux commands, and scripting for issue resolution and system optimization.
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams for system patching, configuration changes, and maintenance.
• Ensure application security by identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Perform volume-metric analysis and proactively manage system performance.

3. Automation and Innovation

• Manage and monitor RPA (Robotic Process Automation) workflows and ensure smooth process execution.
• Lead small-scale automation initiatives using Microsoft Power Automate, delivering process efficiencies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
• Ensure all automated processes comply with Mashreq’s security and quality standards.
• Validate RPA dashboard data and raise alerts if discrepancies are detected.

4. Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare detailed operational reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for management.
• Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to present production status and incident metrics.
• Document processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
• Provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders on production activities and project progress.

5. Leadership and Team Management

• Lead a cross-functional team comprising onshore, offshore, and vendor resources.
• Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to team members.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with other departments and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex incidents and technical challenges.

6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with business users, operations, and technical teams to ensure smooth data exchange and issue resolution.
• Work closely with Corporate Technology, Retail Technology, and Operations Technology divisions.
• Collaborate with vendors and partners for enhancements, fixes, and upgrades.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on project and system updates.

7. Governance, Risk, and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to PMO, QMS, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Focus on regulatory controls and manage risks related to system downtime, data security, and compliance.
• Maintain awareness of internal and external regulatory frameworks relevant to digital operations.
• Ensure all production activities align with Mashreq’s governance and information security standards.

8. Continuous Improvement and Strategic Contribution

• Contribute to the annual technology roadmap and ensure accurate project financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement, cost optimization, and automation.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in digital operations.
• Use Agile and DevOps methodologies to drive faster delivery and continuous enhancement.
• Support innovation by leveraging Machine Learning (ML) and data-driven insights.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Application Production Support and RPA technology.
• Prior experience in a banking or financial services environment is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of WebLogic Web Server, Oracle Database, and Java programming.
• Proficient in Unix/Linux administration and scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate (RPA) workflows.
